Mental Health and Wellbeing is a huge issue for South Australia and I am glad that you have undertaken many topics that are inclusive. I was a carer for a parent for many years and I have seen no reference to Carers within the topics. We are lucky to have a Carers Recognition Act in S.A. but there is so much more to achieve to raise their profile and more importantly as we are a state which has the highest aged population in the country, carers are and will be in demand, how do we support family carers, how do we support cares from not developing mental health issues (depression etc) – A great deal of information can be had from Carers SA.

I haven’t even begun with Young Carer issues which is on the incline and will continue to. Their lack of identification, education and support etc.

SACOSS is undertaking terrific work – a credit to you all. It will be interesting to see how many hits you have had to the website, responses received and any follow up. I will use some of the information you have provided.

      Hi Paola

thanks for your feedback, and we’re glad you’re finding the site and its resources useful. As you note, Carers SA is doing great work on the issues you raise; if you follow our “Contacts” link you’ll see them listed, as is the Youth Affairs Council of SA (YACSA) – you might want to contact them, too.
